Andy Warhol understood the power of fame, celebrity, and the importance of branding. He combined an interest in popular culture with shameless self-promotion, and his art foreshadowed our own era of social media, internet stars and the selfie. In conjunction with the current exhibition, Andy Warhol: Portraits, please join Dr. Jerry N. Circles Lunchtime Lecture Series | Novedades: New Acquisitions of Latin American Art

Orientation Room Lunch | 11:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. Lecture | 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. Dr. Vanessa Davidson, the Shawn and Joe Lampe Curator of Latin American Art, will guide the group through new acquisitions in Latin American art over the past two years, including works by Argentine artist Victor Grippo, Cuban collective The Merger, and Venezuelan photographer Luis Molina-Pantin. She will also touch on several works that will eventually become part of the Phoenix Art Museum's permanent collection, thanks to a series of Promised Gifts generously offered to the Museum by Diane and Bruce Halle.
