Circles Presents: David Talyor

Circles Members are invited to a reception and lecture with Arizona-based artist David Taylor. During a period of rapid change and increased tensions along the U.S.-Mexico border in 2007, Taylor began photographing the 276 obelisk monuments that delineate the border between the two nations. David Taylor: Photographs, opening May 28, features the full portfolio of those images. The photographs reveal a space that is both foreign and familiar, much like the border itself.   6 – 7pm: Reception | 7 – 8pm: Lecture  RSVP by Tuesday, April 26, 2016 to 602-257-2115 or circles@phxart.org.

Master Docent Mardelle Mikus leads a conversation regarding the symbolic interpretations of this Spanish Colonial treasure illustrating the convergence of two cultures, the new world in the Americas and the old world of Europe.
