Brilliant Abstraction: Orme Lewis Gifts in the New Orme Lewis Gallery

Orme Lewis, co-founder of the law firm Lewis and Roca, was a long-time supporter of Phoenix Art Museum who gifted more than 1,000 works of art to the Museum – the most from a single donor. While his interests were wide and varied, bold and innovative abstract works by 20th century artists represent a large portion of his collected gift. A selection of Lewis’s gifts, by such artists as Alexander Calder, Karel Appel, and Sam Francis, will be on view in this inaugural exhibition in the newly-relocated gallery bearing his name, the Orme Lewis Gallery.
