What Objects Mean
Material culture can illuminate nuances of social, political, and cultural history, tell untold stories, and offer insights into the experience of ordinary people whose lives are not otherwise documented, while encouraging students to think critically. Fashioned in America will serve as our starting point for investigating material objects in light of their manufacture, history of use, and preservation.
Session will include a visit to Fashioned in America, in the Ellman Fashion Design Gallery, and a hands-on activity in our Lemon Art Research Library.
