Marissa Roth is an internationally published photojournalist whose assignments for prestigious publications, including The New York Times, have taken her around the world. Roth was part of The Los Angeles Times staff that won a Pulitzer Prize for Best Spot News, for its coverage of the 1992 Los Angeles riots. Investigate how shadows are cast!  View Regina Silveira’s Meret Oppenheim com sombra peluda (Meret Oppenheim with Furry Shadow) in the Past/Future/Present exhibition to gather inspiration. Senior Coffee Social

Join us for our bimonthly Coffee Social for Members 65 and over. Enjoy complimentary coffee, breakfast treats and a presentation about November’s Object of the Month: Eleven-headed Avalokiteshvara. The Buddhist religious art of Tibet and Mongolia, exotic and esoteric, has firm roots in the ancient arts of Asia.  Explore Avalokitesvara, eleven-headed patron deity of Tibet and other beloved deities of the region with docent Carrie Mikkelborg.    This event will take place in Singer Hall in Wolfswinkel Education Center.
