Invite your friends, celebrate the season in high-style, and raise crucial funds to support fashion design at the Museum: join Arizona Costume Institute for its annual holiday luncheon! About ACI Arizona Costume Institute was founded in 1966 to support the Museum's Fashion Design Department in the acquisition, preservation, and appreciation of garments and accessories of historical and aesthetic significance. Throughout the year, ACI promotes appreciation of fashion design through educational programs and support of the Museum's exhibitions.

PhxArt Amplified: Volume 2

Sound and art converge for PhxArt Amplified: Volume 2, an all-day, all-ages experience at Phoenix Art Museum. Live, acoustic, and experimental performances by local musicians will take over our galleries and spaces. This is a free event open to the public. Reserve your spot at tickets.phxart.org About the poet: Naomi Shihab Nye was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1952. Her father was a Palestinian refugee and her mother an American of German and Swiss descent, and Nye spent her adolescence in both Jerusalem and San Antonio, Texas. She earned her BA from Trinity University in San Antonio. Nye is the recipient of numerous honors and awards for her work, including a Lavan Award, the Paterson Poetry Prize, the Carity Randall Prize, and many Pushcart Prizes. She has received fellowships from the Lannan Foundation, the Guggenheim Foundation, and was a Witter Bynner Fellow. From 2010-2015 she served as a Chancellor of the Academy of American Poets.
