College Night

Calling all higher-ed students! Enjoy a special evening for college and university students at Phoenix Art Museum. See Valeska Soares: Any Moment Now for free, and take advantage of a discounted $2 student ticket (please bring your ID) to see the special exhibition, Iris Van Herpen Transforming Fashion. There will also be music provided by local DJs, on-site food trucks, art-making workshops led by the Creative Fellows from ASU’s Herberger Institute of Design and the Arts, and art by ASU Barrett Honors College students on view in the Museum’s Wilde Plaza. 

Cardboard House Press Bilingual Poetry Series

On April 4, visit Phoenix Art Museum to enjoy a bilingual reading in Spanish and English from authors and translators of Cardboard House Press. Mexican poets Omar Pimienta and Alejandro Tarrab will read from their most recent books published in the United States by Cardboard House Press, The Album of Fences and Litane, translated into English by José Antonio Villarán and Clare Sullivan, respectively. We have also invited poet Susan Briante to read from her latest collection, The Market Wonders (Ahsahta Press). Giancarlo Huapaya, poet and editor of Cardboard House Press, has translated a selection of Briante's poems into Spanish and will accompany her for a bilingual reading.
