Melissa Chiu is Director of the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, the national museum of modern art. Ms. Chiu’s current goal is to rethink the museum for the twenty-first century.  In her two and a half year tenure, she has tripled the number of board members, which for the first time includes international members.  She has increased fundraising by an average of 84% per year, and raised attendance by an average of 27% per year.
