Take a little extra time to look, listen and relax your mind with our teams of museum educators and mindfulness guides. Presented in partnership with Hospice of the Valley, each session focuses on one work of art in the Museum, blending guided mindfulness practice with a deeper reflection of an individual artwork.  Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction was developed at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 1979 by physicist Jon Kabat-Zinn. Summer Studio: Teens Draw

Free event for teens ages 13-18 6 – 8 pm Develop your observational drawing skills this summer through this series of in-gallery drawing sessions led by Phoenix-based artists. Drawing inspiration from art throughout the museum, we’ll explore mark-making, composition, and taking sketches off the page. Materials provided, but you're welcome to bring your own sketchbook. All skill levels welcome, no previous drawing experience is necessary. In this session, work with Laura Spalding Best and other participants to create one very long landscape.
