First Friday at Phoenix Art Museum

Every First Friday, Phoenix Art Museum offers free general admission and discounted special exhibition admission* from 6pm-10pm. This First Friday, we celebrate the opening of our latest contemporary art exhibition, Kehinde Wiley: A New Republic, with live music, performance art, live portraiture in the galleries, photo booths, and more!

Please note that Phoenix Art Museum will CLOSE from 4 pm to 6 pm on OCT. 7 in preparation for First Friday festivities. The Museum will remain open that evening until 10 pm.

Phoenix Art Museum is one of five Artlink Phoenix First Friday Trolley hubs. Park and enjoy the Museum then take the trolley tour and explore all the downtown Phoenix arts and culture destinations. The Museum is conveniently located by the Central and McDowell Valley Metro Lightrail station. 


  • Paid parking is available just north of Phoenix Art Museum at Central United Methodist Church from 5pm- 10pm on First Friday. The charge is $10 and can be paid using cash or credit card. Click here for an online map. 
  • Free overflow parking is also available across the street from Phoenix Art Museum at Central Arts plaza, on the 3rd and 4th floors of the parking garage on the southwest corner of Central Avenue and Palm Lane. Click here for an online map.

*See special exhibition pricing hereMaricopa Community College faculty, staff and students are able to attend Kehinde Wiley: A New Republic exhibition for free every First Friday and every Wednesday from 3-9pm with a valid Maricopa Community College ID. All other times, general admission for MCC Faculty, staff and students is free and the special exhibition fee of $5 applies.
