Observing the work of water in collaboration with SRP
Wednesday, February 4 | 6 - 7:30 p.m.
Leonardo da Vinci’s Codex Leicester, on view January 24 through April 12 includes many drawings and diagrams exploring the work of water. Although oceans cover 70% of the Earth's surface, only 3% of that supply is freshwater, with only 1% considered usable freshwater. SRP Educator Kevin Rolfe, will join us to discuss the history of water in Central Arizona, environmental water issues, water science, and how managing this water has been such an important aspect of growth in the Valley over the past 100+ years.. Participants will receive water resource materials.
Following this presentation, join us for a special tour of Leonardo da Vinci’s Codex Leicester and the Power of Observation, where we’ll see how artists investigate the natural world through close observation and thinking on paper.
Session will be held in the Orientation Room, next to the Museum Store. RSVP to education@phxart.org
