What’s Different about Qing Painting?

Dr. Claudia Brown points out the unique qualities of Qing-dynasty (1644-1911) Chinese paintings using works from the collection of Marilyn and Roy Papp currently on view. Highlights include a folding screen a series of eighteenth-century scrolls that are featured in Brown’s forthcoming book, Great Qing: Painting in China 1644-1911.
