Artist Talk: Middle of the Road with Kōzō Miyoshi
Tickets $5 or free for members
Photographer Kōzō Miyoshi will discuss the photographs he made on Historic Route 66 during the mid-1990s, while he was an artist-in-residence at the Center for Creative Photography in Tucson. Miyoshi road-tripped along what remains of Route 66, the “Main Street of America,” creating meticulously-composed images with an 8 x 10 view camera that present the iconic road as a place in transition from highway to scenic byway, America to Americana. Miyoshi’s photographs inspired the Museum’s exhibition Longer Ways to Go: Photography of the American Road.
