Workshop: Where Do You Stand
Museum Member tickets are $130
Non-member tickets are $150
In this workshop, participants will examine the following two questions: where do you stand and when do you press the shutter? Photographer Jeff Jacobson will explore both the physical aspects of shooting (distance, position, movement) and the deeper psychological and emotional aspects of knowing where a photographer stands in relation to their work and the rest of their life.
Participants are required to shoot an assignment prior to the workshop (any subject of their choice) to bring for discussion. Jacobson will provide personal feedback on these assignments, the editing process, and insight on the challenges working with digital photography. This workshop is for serious photographers looking to improve their work.
Jeff Jacobson's photographs are in the permanent collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Center for Creative Photography, Tucson. Jeff’s latest book, The Last Roll, was published in Spring, 2013, by Daylight Books. Jeff teaches workshops yearly at the International Center of Photography, in New York.
