In the Mood for Love

Chow (Tony Ieung Chu-wai) and Li-zhen (Maggie Cheung Man-yuk) become more than friends when they realize that their spouses are having an affair. Modish costumes, lavish sets, and rich moody lighting set the tone for this stylish drama that takes place in Hong Kong in the '60s.

“This may be one of the swooniest movies ever made about love … In the Mood for Love is probably the most breathtakingly gorgeous film of the year, dizzy with a nose-against-the-glass romantic spirit that has been missing from the cinema forever.” – The New York Times
