Gabriela Rangel, Director and Chief Curator of Visual Arts at the Americas Society (NYC), discusses artist Carlos Cruz Diez’s idea of participatory art vis-à-vis the modernization process in Venezuela in the 1950s-60s. Her talk also touches on the Brazilian Neo-Concrete movement, as well as works by Jesús Rafael Soto.
