Circles Presents: Yeohlee | Serra an Intersection of Art and Fashion, featuring Dennita Sewell, The Jacquie Dorrance Curator of Fashion Design at Phoenix Art Museum on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m at The Silverleaf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Join Dennita Sewell for an inside look into the connections between fashion designer Yeohlee Teng and artist Richard Serra. Although conceived independently and for different purposes, their works use balance and proportion to influence graphic impact and spacial perceptions. The Museum’s exhibition, Yeohlee | Serra, pairs a series of Yeohlee’s mid-1990’s gowns with the oil stick screen prints of Serra in an intersection of art and fashion.
As Phoenix Art Museum’s curator of fashion design, Dennita Sewell oversees a collection featuring more than 8,000 pieces dating from the 18th century to the present. She’s been with Phoenix Art Museum since 2000 and holds an MFA in costume design from Yale University.
