For more than a decade, the Museum has offered a rare opportunity to view Chinese paintings in our collection in an intimate setting with local and visiting scholars, and to learn more about their history through two presentations. This years visiting scholar is Michele Matteini, Assistant Professor of East Asian Art, Architecture and Visual Culture, New York University. The topics will be:
The Textures of Samsara: Portraiture and Reincarnation in Late 18th century China.
Painting in Total Brightness: The Qianlong Emperor & His Paintings
Sponsored by The Papp Family Foundation.
