Walkabout
Phoenix Art Museum is thrilled to invite its Members and our community to celebrate world diversity and cultures at the Museum’s fifth annual Walkabout, on Sunday, January 27. This fun-filled day provides an exciting opportunity to celebrate, explore, and experience a wide variety of cultures from across the globe through live music, performances, dance, film, delicious food, and of course, visual art.
Each year, within the Museum galleries and in its lush Dorrance Sculpture Garden, exciting demonstrations and interactive presentations teach adults and children about people and cultures from around the world, all of which have blended together to form today’s modern American identity. From Latin America to Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas and beyond, stroll through the Museum and its garden and experience the world around you, right in your own backyard.
This year’s Walkabout includes:
• Flamenco dancers
• World music DJ
• Make-up artistry and arometherapy inspired by works in the Museum
• Lute performances by Loca Rosa
• Japanese flower arranging
• Live Afro-Cuban music
• Presentations by Heard Museum and Musical Instrument Museum
• Hands-on demonstrations of printmaking
And so much more!
