Make It!: Color in Space

Nov 29, 2017, 3:30pm

Join Phoenix-based teaching artist Rachel Goodwin to explore shape, color and form within space. Gather inspiration from Shelia Pepe’s fiber installations in the Hot Mess Formalism exhibition as you create collage drawings using brightly colored materials and textiles.

About the Teaching Artist

Rachel Goodwin is an artist who works predominately in abstracted, soft sculpture and mixed media installations, which analyze ideas of over-consumption, fashion, retail display, and product design. Her sculptural forms mimic purchased goods, with use of trending patterns and colors found in popular culture.

Rachel received her BFA at The University of Texas at Tyler in 2013 and her MFA in Painting & Drawing in May of 2017 at Arizona State University located in Tempe, Arizona where she currently lives and works.
