Object of the Month

Isla jugando a la guerra (Island Playing at War) by José Bedia Valdés

Shaped in part by eclectic influences of primitive Native Indian cultures, the artist seeks “to bring out the presence of the past in the present.” The size, stark colors, and materials grab our attention, but leave us with unanswered questions. Join Docent Margaret Allsup as she navigates this “island” with us.

US Airways is the Official Airline of the Phoenix Art Museum Lecture Series.
