From November 24 through January 7, Phoenix Art Museum will take over a retail space at the CityScape complex and will host a special installation, performances, pop-up shop, and more, during the annual CitySkate ice-skating event in downtown Phoenix. The space is called PhxArt Project: CityScape and we look forward to seeing you there!
This performance is organized and choreographed by Joan Rodriguez and Taimy Miranda. It is the first collaboration they will present as SentiDos Dance Project. It will include the participation of Stilo Dance, a company founded and directed by David Olarte who will be presenting a piece in the show. Joan and Taimy currently work with Stilo Dance as Artistic Directors / Choreographers / Dancers. It will also include Convergence Ballet, a company founded and directed by Jennifer Cafarella.
Some of the work has been shown in important dance festivals such as the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival in Massachusetts. Jacob’s Pillow is considered the oldest and most important contemporary dance festival in the United States. Taimy and Joan have had the opportunity to perform twice at this festival. The first time with the Cuban dance company MalPaso and last summer as part of Stilo Dance, where they presented a work that was choreographed in collaboration with David Olarte and Anthony ‘’Ynot’’ Denaro.
Please note: this performance will take place at CityScape located in downtown Phoenix at 1 E. Washington next door to Charming Charlie and across from CitySkate.
PhxArt Project: CityScape is organized by Phoenix Art Museum, and is made possible through the generosity of CityScape Phoenix and Ambassador Group Insurance.
