One of the most acclaimed and beloved Brazilian films to date, Central Station (Central do Brasil) presents the unexpected emotional journey shared by Dora (Fernanda Montenegro), a retired school teacher embittered by poverty, and a young boy, Josué. After an accident leaves Josué abandoned in Rio de Janeiro’s bustling Central Station, Dora begrudgingly accompanies the boy in search of the father he never knew – moving further from the city and into the heart of Brazil’s remote Northeast. Together the two embark on a journey of the heart that restores Dora’s spirit and changes Josué’s life profoundly.
