Fahrenheit 451 | Artist's Choice: Valeska Soares Film Series

“Fahrenheit 451 – the temperature at which book paper catches fire, and burns...”
In this film adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s classic novel, celebrated director François Truffaut depicts a dystopian society where books are banned and burned by the government, fearing an independently-thinking public. Although tasked to burn all books, firefighter Guy Montag begins to read confiscated works in secret. He becomes disillusioned with his role in censoring and destroying knowledge and joins a resistance group that memorizes and shares the world's greatest literary and cultural works. Once discovered, however, he must decide whether to return to his job or face the consequences.
