All skill levels welcome
Program included with general admission
Explore a work of art or exhibition from multiple angles, then make something representing your own view. Space and materials provided, but you’ll have to BYOP (bring your own perspective).
February: Narrative Painting
Some images are worth a thousand words--draw inspiration from works of art that have a story to tell, from contemporary illustrations to the intricate paintings in Guru Nanak: 550th Birth Anniversary of Sikhism’s Founder which highlight formative experiences in the guru’s life (including getting in trouble at school for not paying attention in class). Then, tell the story of your personal best moments in visual form.
March: Exhibitions 101
Delve into the works of art installed in the Lyon Gallery, which were selected by the high school students in Teen Art Council. Get the
backstory on their choices and get your hands messy with related activities.
Teen programs are made possible through the generosity of the Carstens Family Funds. They are made possible, in part, through The Diversifying Art Museum Leadership Initiative, funded by the Walton Family Foundation and the Ford Foundation, and supported by Thunderbirds Charities.
