Journalist and fashion writer, muse to designers and fashion enthusiasts, Anna Piaggi was a fashion icon and collector of garments from all eras known for her unique style. From 1961 to 1968, she was the fashion editor for Arianna magazine and then became contributing editor to Vogue Italia in the late 1960's. Stefano Piaggi, President of Associazione Culturale Anna Piaggi and nephew of the famous fashion editor will present a slide lecture about her life and style with film clips from the recently released documentary, Anna Piaggi: Una Visionaria della Moda.
Arizona Costume Institute was founded in 1966 to support the Museum's Fashion Design Department in the acquisition, preservation, and appreciation of garments and accessories of historical and aesthetic significance. ACI promotes appreciation of fashion design through educational programs and support of the Museum's exhibitions.
