Celebrating William H. Johnson with Bad Cactus Brass Band

Join us for a celebration of painter William H. Johnson, who drew inspiration from art forms as diverse as African textiles and American Jazz. Participate in a hands-on weaving activity inspired by Johnson’s artwork and watch his portraits come alive with 30s-era jazz from the Bad Cactus Brass Band. Performances start at 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM.

Free with Museum Admission.

The Smithsonian Community Grant Program, funded by Met Life Foundation, is a proud sponsor of this public program.
