Art Masterpiece Bootcamp Training

REGISTRATION NOW OPEN: Saturday, October 21, 2017, 9am-4:30pm at Phoenix Art Museum

Spend the day with us and come away ready to implement a successful Art Masterpiece program at your school. Discover techniques for engaging students in visual thinking and close looking at art. Learn strategies to create meaningful hands-on activities. Meet other Art Masterpiece volunteers and exchange tips for successful presentations.

Art Masterpiece is a school-based program intended to introduce elementary students to the visual arts. Classroom volunteers augment school curriculum through classroom presentations about artwork from Phoenix Art Museum’s collection.

Who should attend Art Masterpiece Bootcamp?*

ANYONE looking to share their passion for art with children, including school-based volunteers, after-school teachers, youth program leaders, PTO members, and homeschool families. No background in art required.

* While teachers are welcome to attend, this event is intended for informal educators, not classroom teachers. Teachers are encouraged to take part in our ongoing educator professional development programs. Visit phxart.org to learn more.

During registrationchoose from the workshops that best fit your needs. We'll have hands-on, participatory sessions for both experienced Art Masterpiece presenters and for those new to the program (or even just thinking about it!).

This year, we are excited to introduce the Project Potluck—an opportunity to share your favorite lesson based on an object from Phoenix Art Museum's collection with other attendees. If you are interested in sharing your unique project, sign-up here

Registration fees:
  • Through September 21: $10 for Museum Members, $20 for non-Members 
  • From September 22 through October 13: $25 (everyone)
